Mid-January Rhythms
By the middle of January we tend to have our routines re-established after the holiday season, but I must say, here at Whisper Mountain we really haven’t had routine quite yet. The winter weather has been coming and going, affecting work and school schedules (no complaints here!). Maybe that’s the new rhythm for now. In a lot of ways, it’s the rhythm of slower because we are hunkered down more. We are grateful to be able work remotely when necessary and for the ability to get the inside organizing done that we tend to ignore because of outside work beckoning.
We are definitely busy with the hiring of staff, the scheduling of groups for the year ahead (and even next year too), and the organizing of all the little details that happen behind closed doors that make this ministry operate. It’s the season of preparing and praying. The season of quieting down so we can hear God’s whisper in seeking discernment and wisdom and direction. It’s the quieting before the storm of spring and summer.
We are grateful for the opportunities ahead of us this winter and spring - more on that in the next post - and we are looking forward to what the Lord plans to do in each of us and through the vessel of camp ministry. Will you be praying for us as we are in this season of preparing? We appreciate you so much!
How’s your year starting out — have you been able to establish the routines and rhythms you hoped to?
